I have my offices and edit suite in Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex but cover a wide part of the South East of England. Sometimes beyond if the project requires but my preference is to work in the South East.

Ahh…the FX3. Are you a real videographer if you don’t use this now ubiquitous cinematic goliath?

Essentially, yes. I was a dedicated Canon user for years until I switched to Fujifilm. For me, Fuji cameras offer razor-sharp 4K 10-bit video backed by years of Fuji’s incomparable colour science. Modern Fuji cameras will happily give any Sony a run for its money.

Remember what you are paying for with a videographer is their experience, their vision, their integrity, not the badge on their camera. You can have a great camera operated by an unqualified person and the results are understandably poor, conversely a bad camera operated by a genius is still going to be a problem.

I always feel that with videography, experience counts for a lot. Not just technical experience in this field (which in order to cover the areas I cover has to be vast and ever-expanding) but experience with people. I have a very broad range of work experience, not just with videography, and this has allowed me over the years to work with very different types of people. I value my skills with people as much as I do my years of technical knowledge.

From experience, this merely allows unsolicited phone calls which take me away from what I’m meant to be doing. And as I’ve had the same rather memorable phone number for the last 30 years I’d hate to have to change it when the levels of sales calls becomes unbearable.

I’ve always offered affordable videography as I believe it’s a communication medium which should be within the reach of all. As I’ve already said on this site, no two jobs are the same and pricing is reflected in this. If you want a ballpark figure, a basic 2 minute promo video starts at £500.
